CaptainPass — Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the CaptainPass mobile application or related services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use CaptainPass

You must be at least 13 years old. By using the Service you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.

2. Your account

You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Keep your password and devices secure. Notify us at support@captainpass.app immediately if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

3. The Service

CaptainPass helps people in Oman discover, organize, and pay for football and padel games at participating venues. We act as a coordination platform between captains, players, and venue owners. The actual sports facility, the game itself, and the experience on the day are provided by the venue and the players — not by CaptainPass.

4. Roles

• Captain — the user who creates a game. You are responsible for choosing the venue, time, and rules, and for ensuring your players show up. If your match has a “captain pays all” payment method or the booking auto-confirms with unpaid players, the unpaid share is charged to your card.
• Player — a user who joins a game. You must pay your share within the deadline shown in-app or your slot is automatically released.
• Owner — the operator of a registered venue. Owners can mark in-person payments and create manual bookings for walk-ins.
• Admin — CaptainPass staff with platform-management privileges.

5. Bookings, holds, and cancellations

• Joining a game places a temporary card hold (pre-authorization) for your share. Funds are not captured until the match is settled (typically 2 hours after the scheduled end time).
• You may leave a game and receive a refund subject to the cancellation rules shown in-app at the time of cancellation. Open matches may be cancelled free of charge per the rules; private and confirmed bookings may incur a cancellation fee set by the venue.
• If a public match doesn’t fill in time it is auto-cancelled and any holds are released; no charge is made.
• Refunds may be issued back to your original payment method or to your in-app wallet at your choice. Wallet credit can be used for future bookings on CaptainPass and is non-transferable, non-redeemable for cash, and may expire as described in-app.

6. Payments

When payments are enabled, card transactions are processed by Thawani (a third-party Omani payment provider). By making a payment you authorize CaptainPass and Thawani to charge your selected payment method for the amount displayed in-app, including any platform service fee in effect. We do not see or store your card number.

Pricing displayed in-app is in Omani Rial (OMR). Taxes, where applicable, are included in the displayed price unless stated otherwise.

7. User conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to interact with the Service.
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to circumvent security controls.
• Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or violates anyone’s rights.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section without prior notice.

8. Content you submit

You retain ownership of feedback, game rules, and other content you submit. You grant CaptainPass a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and process your content as needed to operate the Service.

9. Service availability

The Service is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep it running but make no guarantee of uninterrupted availability, accuracy of venue information, or that any specific game will take place. We are not liable for actions of venues, owners, or other users.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaptainPass and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, whether arising from your use of the Service or any inability to use it. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) OMR 50.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from inside the app. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (payments, content license, liability, governing law) will survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Muscat.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
