Terms of Service
By creating an account or using the CaptainPass mobile application, owner web portal, or admin dashboard (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who can use CaptainPass
You must be at least 13 years old. By using the Service you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.
2. Your account
You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Keep your password and devices secure. Notify us at support@captain-pass.com immediately if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
3. The Service
CaptainPass is a community platform that helps people in Oman find players, discover and organise football and padel games, and โ as part of that โ book the venue and split the cost. We coordinate between players, captains, and venue owners. The facility, the game, and the day-of experience are provided by the venue and the players, not by CaptainPass.
4. Roles
- Captain โ the user who creates a game. You are responsible for choosing the venue, time, and rules, and for ensuring your players show up. If your match has a "captain pays all" payment method or the booking auto-confirms with unpaid players, the unpaid share is charged to your card.
- Player โ a user who joins a game. Payment is taken at the time of joining; a slot is not reserved without payment.
- Owner โ the operator of a registered venue. Owners edit their venue's public profile (name, location, photos, standard price, surface, bio, map link), reply to reviews, mark in-person payments, and create walk-in bookings. Owners set only their standard price; promotional and discounted prices are set by CaptainPass. Cancellation timing is set by CaptainPass, not the venue. Owners are responsible for the accuracy of the information they publish.
5. Bookings, payments, and cancellations
- Joining a game charges your card immediately for your share. The full amount appears on your card statement at the time of booking.
- You may leave a game and be refunded up to 1 hour before kickoff. Within that final hour, a confirmed game is non-refundable (your paid spot is held for the team) โ but it can be claimed by another player for free until the game ends, so the seat isn't wasted.
- An unconfirmed game can be left for a full refund any time before it locks (30 minutes before kickoff); if it never fills, it auto-cancels and everyone is refunded automatically.
- A confirmed game stays joinable until it ends (start time plus duration).
- Refunds may be issued as instant wallet credit (the default โ available immediately for future bookings) or back to your card (typically 2 to 15 business days, depending on your bank). You choose your refund destination when you cancel a game yourself. For automatic cancellations (e.g. a match that didn't fill in time), you are refunded to your original payment method โ money paid by card goes back to your card, and money paid from wallet credit returns to your wallet.
- Wallet credit can be used for any future booking on CaptainPass. It is non-transferable, cannot be withdrawn as cash, and may expire as described in-app.
6. Payments
Card transactions are processed by AmwalPay, a third-party Omani payment provider. By making a payment you authorise CaptainPass and AmwalPay to charge your selected payment method for the amount displayed in-app, including any platform service fee in effect. We do not see or store your card number.
Venues are paid their standard price for each booking. Where CaptainPass runs a discount or promotional offer, CaptainPass absorbs the difference โ the venue still receives its standard price.
Pricing displayed in-app is in Omani Rial (OMR). Taxes, where applicable, are included in the displayed price unless stated otherwise.
7. Reviews and venue profile
Players may submit a star rating and short text review after a played game. Reviews must reflect genuine personal experience, must not contain personal attacks, hate speech, or illegal content, and may be removed at our discretion if they violate this clause. Venue owners may reply once per review. By posting a review or reply, you grant CaptainPass a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display it on the platform.
Owners are responsible for ensuring photos they upload do not infringe third-party copyright and accurately represent the venue. We may remove photos that violate this clause.
8. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users or owners.
- Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to interact with the Service.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to circumvent security controls (including App Check / reCAPTCHA).
- Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or violates anyone's rights.
- List a venue you do not own or have permission to manage.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this section without prior notice.
9. Content you submit
You retain ownership of feedback, game rules, reviews, replies, and photos you submit. You grant CaptainPass a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and process your content as needed to operate the Service.
10. Service availability
The Service is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it running but make no guarantee of uninterrupted availability, accuracy of venue information, or that any specific game will take place. We are not liable for actions of venues, owners, or other users.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CaptainPass and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, whether arising from your use of the Service or any inability to use it. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) OMR 50.
12. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from inside the app. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (payments, content license, liability, governing law) will survive.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Muscat.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
