Tournaments

Everything to know before you enter.

How you get in, how the shares are paid, and exactly what happens to your money if plans change.

The rules

Before you enter

  1. Ways to enter

In a team tournament you can enter on your own and be placed on a team, as a full team, or as a part-team you finish from the pool. Singles and americano formats have no teams — you just register yourself.

  2. Shares & payment

The entry fee splits equally across the team's seats, and the captain covers any odd baisa. A captain can pay for as many teammates as they like. The first payment holds the seats for 20 minutes and each further payment extends it — if the hold runs out, the team is cancelled and everyone who paid is refunded.

  3. Pool & waitlist

The paid pool fills first and it is small — five solo places, three team places. If it is full the waitlist is free, but when a place opens everyone is alerted at once and the first to pay takes it. Joining the waitlist early reserves nothing.

  4. Pricing

There is no CaptainPass entry fee. The price is the venue's court cost, split across the team places and then across each team's seats. A host can cover the whole court so everyone else enters free. The price is fixed when the tournament is created. Prizes are handled outside the app.

  5. Refunds

You choose: wallet credit, which lands instantly and is used within 120 days, or back to your card in 2–15 working days. Cancel on the same day you paid and the charge is simply voided. Don't choose within 24 hours and we refund to whatever you paid with.

  6. Cancelling

Cancel more than 24 hours before the start and you're refunded. Inside 24 hours the fee is forfeited to the venue, which has held the court for you. Once the draw is published, entries lock. If the tournament is called off for being under-filled, everyone is refunded in full however close to the start it happens.
